On Saturday night Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire in a exterior garage at a residence in Cameron.
Upon the arrival of the first fire engine they reported heavy involvement of a 30x30 garage with no exposures. Due to the heavy volume of flame a 2.5 inch attack line and a 1.75 inch attack lines were simultaneously deployed for an exterior attack. Once the fire was knocked down, firefighters continued the attack and overhaul operations on the interior. Multiple tankers were utilized to fight this fire and keep the drop tank full. Also dispatched were our automatic aid partners: Carthage Fire/Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire/Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety and the Moore County Sheriff's Office.
Moore County Public Safety completed the fire investigation and it was determined that the fire spread from an unattended fire pit on the exterior of the structure.
