Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue along with EMS units from Benhaven Fire/Rescue and Moore County EMS was dispatched to a T-bone collision between a car and a dump truck on Cypress Church Road at the intersection of Lakeview Lane.
Upon the arrival of the Deputy Fire Chief he advised of a side-impact collision with heavy damage and that the occupant of the dump truck was not injured and that the driver of the car was out of the car but that the passenger was pinned in the passenger seat.
E-211 was assigned extrication and Rescue 219 along with Medic 28 were assigned patient care until the arrival of EMS transport units. Crews utilized extrication equipment to pry the passenger door open as well as spread the door opening so that the patient could be accessed and removed. Air Care was initially requested due to the severity of the wreck but was later cancelled.
The Benhaven unit transported both of the victims from the car to First Health of the Carolina's for further treatment.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
