Many people don't realize that the Leading Cause of Home Fires is Unattended Cooking.
In an effort to bring attention to the dangers of Home Cooking Fires, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue has started an initiative to educate our residents on safety in the kitchen by partnering with several local restaurants.
Our efforts have started by partnering with a community favorite, Bob's Pizza.
Firefighters Rudy Allgood and Bradley Dick attaching Cooking Safety Flyers to Bob's Pizza boxes today. Citizens that pick-up to go orders from Bob's Pizza will see safety information attached to the pizza box that will remind them how to be safe in the kitchen.
We have also posted a cooking safety message on Station 1's message board on Main Street in Vass.
We strongly encourage people to shop local and eat local and remain safe in the kitchen. Thanks to Bob's Pizza for participating in our community safety efforts.
