Careercast.com and Forbes.com recently released their annual list of the Most Stressful Jobs of 2015. This list includes the 10 most stressful jobs with a stress rating, the median salary for each job and potential growth for each job.

The rating ranks firefighter as the overall most stressful job. Most firefighters whether they are career, volunteer or paid-on-call face some type of stressful situation everyday. From the many different types of fires they could face to rescue events and extrication of victims to life threating medical calls that they respond too. Firefighters never know what the next call may bring but they must be trained and ready for that call.

Most firefighters also understand that the public has a great amount of trust in them. The fire service is one of the only professions that the public will let them in their house or hand over a family member with an emergency without question. This trust also equates to stress because most firefighters do not like failure or breaching the publics trust.
