Wildland Fire Advice

Our area has had more rain than normal this year however, that does not mean that a wildland Fire will not burn erratically. This time of year many residents are getting out side and cleaning their yard from fallen leaves and tree limbs. In many cases home owners will burn yard debris and in some cases the fire will get out of control.
We encourage you:
Not to burn within a 100 feet of any structure
Always, check the weather, if it is going to be windy, don't burn.
Have a water supply close enough to the burn to extinguish it if necessary, preferably a garden hose.
An adult should stay with the fire until it is completely out.
Wet the area down after you are finished so the fire does not rekindle.
Always get a burning permit from one of our stations, they are FREE!!!

Be Safe
