On Tuesday night Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue hosted a Live Burn Training Exercise that included our Automatic Aid Partners: Carthage Fire/Rescue and Whispering Pines Fire/Rescue with Moore County EMS providing medical standby.
This training exercise included instruction on: hose line deployment, hose handling, fire attack, ventilation and a discussion on building constriction. The building construction discussion revolved around the differences between modern construction and legacy construction and how each type of construction reacts differently under fire conditions.
Live Fire Training is the most valuable training that a firefighter can receive, this allows for real life scenarios and requires veteran firefighters to practice their skills and allows rookie firefighters to be evaluated under real fire conditions.
