Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue is proud to announce the arrival of our new Water Rescue Boats. As a direct result of Hurricane Matthew in 2016 Cypress Pointe was approved for funding to upgrade our boats by the Moore County Fire Commission, Moore County Commissioners and the Cypress Pointe Board of Directors.
We ordered a double stack trailer from One Boat Inc. with two boats that include: a 16 foot aluminum flat bottom boat with a center console and a dive platform, a 14 foot long ridged inflatable boat, 2 motors and a 24 foot long double stack trailer.
The boats are specifically designed for dive operations, water rescue operations and evacuations due to flooding.
These boats will deploy as part of the Moore County Water Rescue Task Force which also includes a 28 foot dive trailer that carries all of the Task Force equipment that is needed for water rescue operations.
Each year the Task Force is requested several times for boating accidents, evidence recovery, vehicle recovery and victim recovery. During Hurricane Matthew the Task Force, Cypress Pointe and other Moore County Departments rescued or evacuated hundreds of people that were trapped by rising water.
