Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue, Southern Pines Fire/Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire/Rescue and Moore County EMS responded to a structure fire on Aiken Road outside of Vass.
Upon the arrival of Engine 214 they reported a working structure fire with flames showing. Due to the amount of fire a transitional attack was used to knock down the fire from the exterior and then move to the inside to complete the extinguishment of the fire. It was unknown if any one was inside the structure so a primary search and a secondary search were both conducted and fortunately no one was located.
The occupants were not at home at the time of the fire and they were referred to the Red Cross for assistance. This included 2 adults and 5 children.
