Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue responded with Engine 211 and Tanker 246 to assist Southern Pines Fire/Rescue on an apartment fire at Highland Hills Gold Course.
The fire was started by unattended cooking in the kitchen. Upon the arrival of Southern Pines Engine 812 they reported smoke showing and initiated fire attack followed by a search for occupants they may have been in the apartment.
Fortunately, there were no residents at home at the time of the fire. The fire was stopped in the kitchen but there was heat and smoke damage throughout the apartment.
