In April 2021 the Board of Directors for Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue approved the replacement of an existing tanker that is over 33 years old.
On May 1, 2021 CPFR Fire Chief Mike Cameron signed a contact with Fouts Brothers Fire Apparatus to construct a new 2,000 gallon tanker.
On October 8th Chief Cameron, Assistant Chief Russell and Captain Wilson completed a final inspection and took possession of the new Tanker 216 at Fouts Brothers plant in Georgia.
The new tanker is built on a Kenworth Chassis, and is capable of delivering 2,000 gallons of water to the fire scene. The truck has a 500 gallon per minute pump, a booster reel for smaller fires, two folding drop tanks, four -6 inch hard suctions for water transfer as well as specialized storage space for fill-line's to speed deployment at the fill site.
Members of the department will be going through training on the new truck before it is placed in service in the near future.
This is the third tanker that Cypress Pointe has purchased from Fouts Brothers.
