On Monday, Cypress Pointe was dispatched as an Automatic Aid Department to assist Southern Pines Fire/Rescue with an apartment fire. Southern Pines units arrived to find a working apartment fire in a second-floor apartment at Austin Ridge Apartments off of Saunders Avenue.
Southern Pines crews had to force-entry into the apartment and encountered a fire in the living room, they easily were able to knock the fire down while another crew completed an interior search, no occupants were at home.
CPFR crews were asked to check for fire extension into the attic, the fire did not extend into the attic, but the entire apartment had damage from smoke and high heat.
