On Saturday afternoon CPFR, Moore County EMS and Sheriff's Office along with the N.C. Highway Patrol were dispatched to a motorcycle accident in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 1 By-Pass.
Upon the arrival of Engine 211 and Rescue 229 they located the motorcycle rider which unfortunately had already succumbed to his injuries. The scene was secured, and traffic was rerouted while NC SHP investigated the incident.

CPFR have several members that enjoy riding motorcycles, and we encourage all riders to follow standard rider safety guidelines and always wear a DOT Approved Helmet. We also recognize that in many cases motorcycles are not always seen or respected by the motoring public in larger vehicles. As a vehicle driver please expect to see motorcycles and share the road with bikers, especially during the warmer months.
