On Saturday night CPFR and N.C. Forestry Service were dispatched for an outside fire on White Rock Road just outside the Town of Vass. Just after the dispatch, the 911 Center advised that this call was being upgraded to a structure fire because an out-building was on fire. The 911 Center added Crains Creek Fire Department to the structure fire response.
Upon the arrival of Engine 211 they reported a fully involved out-building with the fire spreading into the woods. Personnel quickly started a fire attack on both the building and woods. The building was completely destroyed, a vehicle was damaged, and the woods fire was contained quickly.
This fire is under investigation by the Moore County Fire Marshal's Office.
