Just after 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue responded as part of an automatic aid response to Whispering Pines for a working structure fire on Pine Lake Drive.
The fire originated on the exterior of the house and burned into the structure fortunately, all of the occupants were awakened by the fire and were able to get out of the house.
The exterior of the house had significant damage, while the interior had both fire damage and smoke damage.
Other departments responding included: Carthage Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Pinehurst Fire Department, Southern Pines Fire Department and Whispering Pines Fire Department.
