At 03:32am Saturday (April 6th) Cypress Pointe F/R along with Automatic Aid from Southern Pines F/R, Crains Creek F/R and Moore County EMS were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on White Rock Road in Vass.

Engine 211 arrived on the scene to find the 12' x 20' outbuilding fully involved with fire exposure into the near-by garage. Delay in the detection of the fire allowed the fire to become well involved before FD arrival. Personnel from Engine 211 started fire attack with two handlines and had the majority of the fire under control in 10 minutes from their arrival. Additional Cypress Pointe units and Automatic Aid unit arrived and assisted with salvage/overhaul and ventilation. Cypress Pointe units/personnel operated on scene for just over two hours before clearing the scene.

Investigation into the fire is being handled by the Moore County Fire Marshals Office.
