Tuesday night, CPFR was dispatched as part of an automatic aid assignment for a structure fire on Vass-Carthage Road in the Carthage Fire District.
Carthage Engine 312 arrived and reported fire showing from the front door. Engine 312's crew-initiated fire attack and CPFR Engine 211 arrived and was assigned fire attack and fire extension investigation. The fire was quickly knocked down and hot spots were extinguished. Unfortunately, the family lost some family pets in the fire.
Departments responding to this call included: Carthage Fire Department, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue, Southern Pines Fire Department, Whispering Pines Fire Department, Eastwood Fire Department, Moore County EMS and the Moore County Sheriff's Office.
This fire is being investigated by the Moore County Fire Marshal's Office.
