Just prior to midnight on Saturday CPFR and Moore County EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle wreck on Highway 690 at Fairley Lane.
Upon the arrival of E-211 and Heavy Rescue 219 they reported a single vehicle wreck with one occupant still in the car and the other occupant had been thrown from the car. At this point, Crains Creek Fire Department was dispatched as a second rescue because it was believed that the occupant in the car was pinned-in. It was quickly determined that the occupant was not pinned, Crains Creek was cancelled.
Immediate medical treatment was initiated on both patients and Air Care was contacted to fly both patients to a trauma center. The landing zone was established at the baseball field in Vass by Engine 213 and Southern Pines Engine 813. Both patients were flown out. The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating this wreck.
