Water Shuttle Training

On May 20th, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue hosted a water shuttle/tanker shuttle training with all of our 1st alarm automatic aid departments attending. Water shuttles are used to supply water for fires in situations where there are no fire hydrants readily accessible or the demand of the fire exceeds what fire hydrants can supply.

Cypress Pointe handled the simulated fire site flow with an engine and operated 4 tankers in the shuttle. Southern Pines handled the tanker fill site and provided a tanker for the shuttle. All other departments provided tankers for the shuttle.

In all during the training tankers shuttled over 76,500 gallons for a little over 2 hours.

Thank you to the automatic aid departments and Cypress Pointe personnel for participating in the training.
