| At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue, along with our automatic aid partners Carthage Fire Department, Whispering Pines Fire Department, and Moore County EMS, were dispatched to the 300 block of Heron Road in the Carolina Lakes community near Cameron for a reported structure fire.
Upon the arrival of Engine 221 they reported a working fire in a mobile home with approximately three-quarters of the structure involved, and an outside fire beginning to extend into the surrounding yard. Crews quickly deployed two attack lines. One line was utilized for exterior fire suppression and then turned on the structure fire, while a second crew forced entry through the front door, advanced an interior line, and successfully cut off the fire’s progression to the remaining portion of the structure.
The property owner arrived on scene and advised that the residence was abandoned and without electrical service.
There were no reported injuries. Moore County Public Safety is conducting the fire investigation with the assistance of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office. |
