Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue responded to an early morning wreck on Carthage Street in Cameron. This was a single-vehicle wreck that resulted in no injuries but when the vehicle left the roadway it hit a fire hydrant and broke it away from its base. The vehicle continued on and struck a Duke Energy power pole, damaging the pole which had to be replaced.
The vehicle had significant damage and had to be carried away by a wrecker. N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating this wreck.
