Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue recently hosted a Basic Open Water Dive Class. This class helps to train future members of the Moore County Water Rescue Task Force (WRTF) and allows existing members to refresh their skills. The class is a three-day class and includes basics dive skills, equipment familiarization and develops skills that are needed for Public Safety Diving. Parts of this class also included Sonar Training with a CPFR Boat that has Sonar equipment mounted on the boat. This type training helps Sonar operators to identify objects in the water before diving for the object.
This certification class was taught by Aquapig Scuba in conjunction with Sandhills Community College.
