On February 7, 2026, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue and the North Carolina Forestry Service were dispatched to an outside fire on Youngs Road. CPFR responded with two brush trucks, two tankers and a fire engine and located a fire that had spread from a previous burn area from a few days earlier. The wind picked up embers and spread the fire into two horse riding rinks and extending into the wood line of the Moss Foundation. CPFR units quickly attacked the fire to slow the spread and extinguish the fire. The property owner utilized a tractor and equipment to provide a fire break between the fire and unburned area.
