A person wishing to become a member of Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue shall complete an application & shall be returned to the Assistant Chief of Human Resources. (Application can be picked up & dropped off at Station 1 in Vass between the hrs of 9 am to 5 pm) or can be fill out Online

The prospective member shall also provide a Certified Background Check to the Assistant Chief of Human Resources. Reimbursement for the background check may be provided to the applicant if it is requested in writing within 30 days of the original application date.

In an effort to consolidate and manage the training schedule a Fire/Rescue Academy will be offered three times per year.The Fire/Rescue Academy shall begin in the following months: January, May and October. Specific dates and times will be determined by the Deputy Chief of Training.

At-least one month prior to the start of the Fire/Rescue Academy the Assistant Chief of Human Resources shall present each prospective member to the Membership Committee for review as per the Cypress Pointe By-laws.

The Membership Committee shall review the application, background check and interview the prospective applicant to determine if the applicant meets the minimum criteria of the department.

After the completion of the Fire/Rescue Academy the prospective member will be presented to the Membership of the Department for a vote of acceptance and full membership.
The following process will be adhered to by Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue and by prospective members. However, this policy may be adjusted as necessary by the Fire Chief and/or the Deputy Chief of Training when a prospective member makes application to Cypress Pointe in which the member has previous training. This process may also be adjusted by the Fire Chief when hiring career personnel.
