CPFR was dispatched at approximately 2:00 a.m. for a vehicle verses a moped accident on U.S. 1 By-pass. The driver of the passenger vehicle was uninjured but the operator of the moped was in serious condition an flown to the trauma center at UNC Hospital by Air Care. The helicopter was landed at the Vass Baseball Field by CPFR personnel and the victim was transported to the landing zone by Moore County EMS. This wreck is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
