Over the last two weeks Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue has been dispatched to several out-side fires. These include: woods fires and grass fires, some of these fires have resulted in the burning of houses or out buildings. We encourage people to get a burning permit for the fire department before burning. If you are going to burn make sure that you have a clear area around the fire, have a water source with a garden hose, stay with the fire until it is complete extinguished. Always check the weather prior to burning, the wind and low humidity can cause erratic behavior for a fire and it can become uncontrollable quickly. It is always against the law to burn anything but natural material, you can not burn trash or man-made products.
